Statistics homework, read here? Even the most brave students can feel the need to flee when they hear those words. This is like reading a book with all of the pages out of sequence – it’s confusing. This has happened to me more than I would like to admit. I have asked myself if I should give up and let someone else handle my statistics problems.

It’s time to get straight to the point: being a student can be a tough life. There are classes, exams and maybe even a job. If you’re fortunate, there’s a semblance social life. It can be difficult to squeeze in the hours needed to solve statistical problems. Outsourcing your statistics homework may seem like a shortcut to home.

Hold your horses. Let’s take a moment to consider what it really means. Time is a slippery thing. One minute, you are on top of things, the next you find yourself drowning in due dates. You could save time by getting help with homework. Imagine having the time to spend with your friends, or binge watch all of your favorite shows without feeling guilty? It sounds pretty good.

But (and this is a very big but), there’s also a little thing we call learning. Recall that. It’s not just about numbers, but also about why they matter. You can learn to cook by doing it yourself. Sure, you can order takeout if you want (which we do all the time), but cooking is satisfying. Who knows? Who knows?

Let’s take a moment to talk about ethics, because everything is not black and white. It’s fine to ask for help when you are stuck. But handing over your entire assignment? Academically, that’s like skating on thin ice. You can get through videogame levels faster by using cheat codes, but what’s the point?

Don’t get me started about quality control. There are many “experts”, who promise A+ grades as soon as they can. Spoiler Alert: Not all can deliver. It’s possible to end up with substandard work, or even worse: getting caught by your professor.

You hear success stories every so often – people who have found mentors that are willing to help them navigate through the statistical fog, rather than simply doing their homework. They didn’t simply give answers, but taught them how to get them.

It’s also rewarding to do it yourself. Nothing beats the “aha!” moment after hours spent wracking your brains.

We are now at a crossroads. Should you pay for someone to do your statistics homework or should you not? It all comes down to your expectations. Do you want to relieve yourself of academic stress or do you really wish to master those annoying stats?

No matter what path you take, keep in mind that statistics can be tough. But so is you. If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask for it. Grab your calculator and lets write epic stories together! Try not to sleep on your textbooks. Maybe we should first ask them why they are feeling that way, rather than jumping on our moral high horse. Understanding begins with listening, even if it makes you uncomfortable.
